Cat Attack

I'm not posting about a leopard gecko, just so you all know. Hopefully that's alright- I just need to get help quickly.

I own two cats, both of which live strictly indoors. We let them out into the garage in the evening if they want to. Anyways, tonight I found an adult Mediterranean house gecko near the door. It lost its tail completely, is bleeding and/or may have lost scales/skin from its back, and appears to have some sort of international bleeding/injury. Oh, and it was in the middle of shedding. I'm still not completely convinced that it'll survive the night. I brought the gecko inside, put it in a small plastic tank with paper towels as bedding, and misted its back. Surprisingly enough, it was alive and had moved a few hours later when I checked on it. I wiped dirt/possible caked blood off its back with a warm, damp paper towel, and tried to clean its tail a bit. I left the paper towel there as a water source. It's been in a different spot every time I check on it, so it's fairly active. Any advice? Should I try rubbing triple antibiotic on its wounds?

Thanks for your help, guys.

awwww poor little thing. the problem with wild lizards is that human intervention does cause stress and could make the situation worse.
if it survives its tail will regenerate and the wounds will shed out over time.
i think your best bet is to keep it warm and keep providing it with drinking water. try putting a small area for it to hide in to, it will help it feel safer.
have you tried offering it something to eat?

If it's still alive when I get home, I'll move it to a larger enclosure and give it a small water dish and a hide. I'm keeping it in the warmest room in the house, and unfortunately don't have any spare heat pads. No, I haven't tried feeding yet. Would pill bugs work or should I see if it can hunt moths? (Don't have any pinheads- smallest things I have at the moment are waxworms, but I might be setting up a dubia colony soon.)

EDIT: Unfortunately the gecko passed away yesterday. Thanks for your help, though.

Those little guys get stressed so easily they often drop their tails just from people trying to touch them. Injury on top of the super stress of being in a cage for the first time almost never ends well. Even keeping healthy adults can be difficult so it's better off to just let them live their little lives out in the wild where they belong. Good job trying to help the little guy tho!
