Ceramic heat emitter vs. bulb

Ive used both and the CHE did produce more heat per wattage. but the apparatus (big word most likely used wrong) is a little cumbersome looking and just big. But it worked VERY well

Well they suggest you use one of there Wire fixtures. The CHE from exo terra is too long for a regular clamp lamp and Im thinking cause it produces more heat per watt than the clamp lamps warning wouldn't be accurate. Plus They NEED a ceramic socket in the lamp so it doesn't melt

CHE can not be recycled and are dangerously hot to the touch when in operation...

CHE's can be very hot indeed, burned my hand several times.
The advantage of them is, they last a lifetime unless you drop them :p
light bulbs on the other hand, won't
(thats why we use them for heat together with a UTH, and a small low-watt bulb for light in our tank)
