I bought a 75 watt ceramic heat emitter a few months ago because my exotic vet recommended it. I see a lot of people on this forum freaking out about only using belly heat but when I had mine using back heat she was just fine, the ground temps are about 95 and fade down to 70. The obvious advantage with this heat source is that there is no light so leaving the bulb on 24/7 is not a problem. Who else uses this as their only heat source and has been successful?

Every time I read this forum I get scared to use the heat emitter again haha,i'm just making this thread to make sure that my Leo surviving on back heat was not a fluke. My new Leo set up will make it difficult to use UTH and it would be nice to have some use for that expensive bulb:main_laugh:

I know this topic is beat to death, I searched a bit but i'd like to talk to the people who DO use this method of heating reptiles .
