chances male and female @ 86F

well I am incubating my 11+ eggs in the hovabator at a constant 85.5 - 86 F so what are the male to female ratio. I want more females than males like maybe half and half so would this be half and half? or should I go lower? Also how many days expected at this temps to hatch?

I think you will do better at 83-84 if you like to get more females. at 84 deg you are looking at about 52 days for the eggs to hatch. Half male and half female would be about 85 deg.

My tang I got from Debbie (Spellbound) was incubated at 87 and if you go by temp sexing Spellbound should be a boy. Well at around 20 grams and 2 months Spellbound looks female. So for now my Spellbound is unknown lol.

ok so your saying 86F will give me mostly boys or 2/3 boys and 1/3 girls. and around 85 I have heard its like 2/3 female and 1/3 male?

idk really, i never had eggs yet but i think 83-84 would give you more females and 86 would give you more males

85: out of 8 eggs 6 males 2 females, 9 eggs 5 females 4 males

82: 8 eggs 7 females 1 male

87: 12 eggs, 3 female 9 males.

These were my records for het x het. I don't do 85 anymore too many males imo.
