Cheap UTH

I adopted 4 Leo's from friend and he had them in a 20 gal tank. I had a 40 Gal so I moved them into that. The UTH for the 20 gal tank wasn't cutting it. I couldn't afford to buy a new one so I went to some thrift stores and found a heating pad that people use for soar or aching muscles and plugged it into a dimmer box I had to control the heat. Only cost me about $6. Works great.

It can work in a pinch but I wouldn't suggest it for long term useage. Considering you can get a real uth for around $20-30 bucks and the fact they're a lot safer for that application it really would be better in the long run. Heating pads for people really aren't meant to be on or used 24/7. Hopefully you'll be able to afford a good uth soon or maybe ask Santa for one :)
