I just found out my geckos have parasites (pinworms). Usually, I do the "big cleaning" once a month (washing everything in detergent water, bake the woods...etc); and in between the month, I just spot clean and wipe the tile substrate with plain wet cloth. Now, I realised that's not good enough. I couldn't find Chlorhexidine here in Hong Kong, but I could order that from overseas. But being an overweight product, the shipping could be pricy.

I want to know more about the product before I make the order.
- Can this product kill off parasitic eggs or worms in the tank?
- Its just spray and wipe (with wet or dry cloth?), no need to rinse?
- Do I need to wait till it dries off completely before putting my geckos back in?
- Its ok if my gecko licks it (there could be residue in the tank)?
- How often do you disinfect your tank?

Thanks.

when i disinfect my terrariums i use a product called klorin (chlorine)(hypochlorite, (NaCLO) but if you use a product like that you must rinse with clean water

Chlorahexadine to my knowledge will not kill parasites. I am not certain on that. I use it though. You do not need to rinse. It is safe for your geckos and it dries really quickly so you shouldn't have much of a problem there. I normally do spot check everynight and then clean my cage really good (take everything out and do a complete rubdown) about once a month.
