Circulation Fan?

We have recently gone to a 48x24x18 enclosure. It has vents on the sides and the back...but the top is not open.

We are thinking of adding a fan for air circulation...BUT, we have a couple questions.

1. Is a fan for air circulation really necessary?

2. Does anyone else use a fan in their housing?

Looking forward to any/all opinions on this.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention, This tank is so well built we are having a hard time keeping the cool side cool. It seems to be warm on both sides that's why we are planning on a small circulation fan hooked to a dimmer so we can control the speed.

Morgan loves laying on the mushroom stand in the fan path.

Looking forward to any/all opinions.

Thanks!!

Yes 2. Dexter & Morgan. The tank is well built and our cool side isn't so cool, that's why the fan is being installed. Also trying ice in bowl for temperature drop as the people in UK are having heat issues also and are doing that.. We live in TX. and It's hot. Next week we will have 3 days of 100's. Morgan actually likes laying in the fan air. Thanks!

We are having a heat wave right now where we live and our geckos cool side is no longer cool and is becoming a hot side too. Yesterday they wanted to come out so we took them out and I have a fan in my room because its so hot and both our geckos just wanted to be by the fan! They were just sitting right in front of it enjoying the cool down! So aslong as the blades of the fan are away from the geckos so they cant get injured it might be a good idea during these hot times.

Yes of course they will be safe (-: we will be installing it on the ceiling to a dimmer so w can control the speed. Dexter is a moist cave guy, He comes out to eat and poop LOL and goes back in. Heck most times i have to drop mealies right in front of cave, they haven't quit figured out the worm dish yet. I guess if i wouldn't feed them they would get hungry and actually eat out of the bowl. Right? These guys are only the length of my hand they are Juvies so we don't let them away from there house yet, we dont want them to escape and run for it. I got them from petsmart and they don't know ages. Morgan loves the fan. Last night Dexter came out and laid on top of the cave for awhile so It must be getting to him also. Thanks. What about grounding? Does anyone know? The fan is metal and there house is wood, No instructions in box or online, We want to make sure they are safe, Or we might just be worrying to much. The house has 2 prewired light fixtures on the ceiling. Hope someone can answer our grounding question. Radio shack doesn't even know the answer. ??

Some geckos just don't like eating out of a bowl, one of my geckos will actually free some of the mealworms in her bowl so she feels like she is actually chasing them haha then she gets bored and sometimes just leaves them there -_- so we have to search for freed mealies. I'm not sure I understand your question about grounding? Your tank is wood correct? So grounding isn't something you need to worry about

Thanks on the grounding. My husband was just worried in case of lighting, He actually took my advise and had me go Walmart and buy a 4" personal fan that's already wired with a stand so all we have to do is secure it to there ceiling with hooks and for extra security we will be using liquid nails on the threads. The fan was only 7 bucks way cheaper than the circulation fan from Radio Shack which was 30.00. Right now Morgan is just chillin in front of the fan on his mushroom tree. Its going to be in the 100's all next week but what do you expect were in Central TX. My son says I'm no zoologist but don't geckos like the heat? Yea but like us we need to cool down and warm up.
Well that's good to know about the worms i guess i'll just watch them, they know they are in the bowl, once in awhile some one will eat a few. Its a 1/2"x4" clear crystal candy dish so they could walk in it if they chose to. Sometimes i remove there cave so they will hunt the worms. I have to remove the legs from crickets so they don't hoop away and just go hide, That's what I have to do to put calcium on them. I know Dexter eats the calcium but have never saw Morgan in the calcium. I heard they know when they need it so they go to the dish. Is that true ya think? I hope so.
