Claws/Toe nails

I just adopted a 7 year old male Leo who seems healthy, but doesn't seem to have any claws to climb anything. My two young ones can climb my shirt or the couch, but this guy doesn't seem to be able to climb anything. He slides down my arm, off my shoulder ect. He can't hang onto anything. Is this a normal thing as these guys get older, or has something happened in his past? Will he regrow the claws or are they gone for good. He did just shed, but it sounds like it was a tough shed (No humid hide).

I don't know much about his history, at some point he lost his tail (supposedly about 4 years ago) and he was kept in a tank with fish tank rocks, only one hide, and a poorly placed under tank heater. He is very calm, and seems to be getting used to his new home. I redid the tank, much the same way as my other tank using his old hide on one end, a new cool hide, and a moist hide. He seems to like the moist hide quite a bit.

Thanks,
Will

Yeah, that's why it's very important to have humid hides for juvies to prevent that from happening. :(
It can also happen when keeping lots of babies together they can get nipped die on the end, but in that case it is usually just one here or there, not all of them!

This guy hasn't had a humid hide ever I think. He is missing all the toe tips and can't climb my shirt easily if I'm lying on the couch. He tries, but slips alot (looks like he is walking on ice. Its sort of funny.)

He's got a much better setup now. At the moment, he's hiding in the humid hide, seems to be his favorite place.
