i have cage carpet in my enclosure right now, and i was just browsing a site and saw clay burrowing substrate???

i don't know how safe this would be...but i do know that in the wild they mostly live on clay and rock.

the package says "great for leopard geckos" but we all know how reliable that is.

i'm not thinking about getting this, i just want some opinions...if anyone has ever heard of or tried this. it looks kinda cool.

i like the idea and if a gecko is use to being on sand and has not impactected i see no reason not to

i personly would not as my geckos have never seen a grain on sand and never will lol

I actually put up a post about this around a month ago and did a search in the housing section and I heard you can't use it with an Under Tank Heater and once you place it and it dries or whatever it is damn near impossible to take out of the tank and difficult to clean.

ooooh, that makes a lot of sense. i knew about the UTH, but figured i could put some tile or something where the UTH is...but i didn't think about not being able to get it out.

thanks!

I have never used the stuff myself, but have heard nothing but bad things about it.
Too bad, it's a great idea.
