Hey guys, so I think I've read threads with a similar question but I'm still a bit confused.

How am I supposed to clean the bedding of my mealworm colony efficiently without losing all of the eggs?
And then when it comes to sorting, I'm not sure of an efficient way to separate the worms from beetles. So far I've had to resort to grabbing individuals and it's not fun -__-
And what about about cleaning the shed skin off the surface? My mom had the bright idea of blowing on it and nearly shot skins all over my room o___o Maybe I should do that outside?

Just curious to know what works for you guys.

Thanks,

Jayme

Jayme, skins done outside or a vacuum
hose held high enough above tub will work.
Household sifter...
separate heavy course stuff to
a beetle tub.
Fine sifted grain to a egg and small worm tub.
I just leave beetles, pupa in the beetle tub.
When you see fine grain on the lower of the
beetle tub.
Sift again and put in the same
places as before.
A trick I learned to not only keep
things from dieing from dehydration,
and also help you harvest ready size
worms.
White paper towels laid on top of
tubs....2 to 3 dry ones first, then
4 to 6 sprayed with water on top.
Worm life fazes will last longer
and worms can be picked off every
morning as they grow.
Take care. HJ
