cleaning the humid hide?

how often do you clean the humid hide? once a week, every other week? i just want to be safe...any suggestions would be great...also, i know you can mist them every once in a while to keep them humid, but how many times before you change the entire substrate (ie tropical soil)..thanks..

i use a margarine container with vermicuite in it for a humid hide.I clean the container monthly and replace the substrate in the container also
