clearing out laybox??

I have a female that just laid her first egg. I am pretty sure that it is a dud. My question is is that she keeps clearing out pretty much all of the moss in her laybox. Also, she didn't lay the first egg in her laybox. Should I put vermiculite in the laybox instead?? I don't want her to lay the egg up against the tub and get stuck. Any suggestions??

Mine always remove the moss from their laybox. If the eggs get stuck, they come off pretty easily.

I use vermiculite in the lay box and my female kicks mostly all of it out when she lays the eggs.

Hmm. Ok. So do you think once she does that I should just take all of the moss out that she has kicked out of the laybox?? I ask this, because she eats mostly crickets and I don't want her to accidently eat the moss, if in fact that would be bad for her and cause impaction.

Or you could just put it back in the lay box. That's what I do.

+1 i switched to vermic after this happening because it well hold steady where they place it.
