Has anyone seen this, or delt with it before? I've got a male that have a few clogged up pores. They don't seem to be bothering him, but I'd like to get them unclogged before they do become a problem. Is there something I can soak him in...or is this something a vet needs to handle?

It's not a really clear shot, but you can see the waxy build-up. I've been keeping a close eye on it, and have been doing warm water soak followed by removing what build-up I can. It seems to be getting better, and he doesn't seem bothered by it. If it starts getting worse, I'll head to the vet, but for now I'm seeing what I can do to solve the problem at home.

If anyone has seen this before, and knows anything that would help - I'd appreciate it!

Shanti, are they clogged or just raw? Do they look like zits? I have seen males drag their 'stuff' all over things to smear that waxy secretion in order to mark their territory, and have actually had one or two get scabby around their pores. If the pores are clogged, I haven't got a clue how to get them unclogged!

Well...I'm guessing it's closer to scabby than zitty. Those 4 areas are flush and somewhat hard to the touch. They don't appear to be infected - just blocked. Maybe it'll clear up with the next shed? I just got done checking all my other males and they all look normal.

Shanti, did you manage to get the pores unclogged in the end? One of my male may have the same problem; he shedded 2 days ago and I noticed one of his pore becomes a brown dot. I can't tell if its clogged or if its a little scab.
