Cloudy Eyes?

I inherited my leopard gecko, Petey, from a friend when he was about 2 years old and have had him for about a year. Im not sure of the morph but he has always been healthy and never had problems. I feed him Crickets as well as small mealworms supplemented with zoo med repti calcium without D3 every feeding and with D3 once a month. He always has plenty of water.

Today while cleaning his cage I noticed he had his left eye closed and I thougt that was really weird when I picked him up he opened it and it was very cloudy and goopy. His eye is now closed again and it looks very painful for him. I need to take him to the vet!

Do any of you know any reptile vets in the Sarasota Florida area? If so, any idea how much it will cost me to get him checked out and have antibiotics if necessary? My poor little dude, I hate seeing him in so much pain.

Is there anything I can do for him in the meantime? I am going to try and take him first thing tomorrow if I can find a vet for him. How would I keep him warm while traveling to the vet if I need to drive a good distance? I'm so worried for my boy. Please any suggestions and help is very much appreciated!!!

Here are some pictures:

Sorry for the poor quality, he is a little frustrated right now with me taking pictures of him and wont stay still so its tough.

The cloudy eye opened:

His eye shut:

His good eye (for comparison if needed):

Since I couldnt get a good picture myself, I copied this from google. This is basically what it looks like, although it seems to be less cloudy now.

ALSO: It looks as if he is about to shed, he is very chalky like he gets right before a shed, I'm not sure if that is relevant or not.

Cage info:

Size: 20 Gallon Long

Substrate: Green Repti Carpet

Hides: one turtle shell, some logs

He has one water bowl in his take as well.

Lighting: Zilla Day Blue Light. I believe it is a 75W

Temps: 98 F on warm side, 87 F on cool side

Humidity: 35%

In addition to calcium geckos need vitamins. One of the most common problems that arise from deficiencies are eye and shedding issues (often they go hand in hand). Do you give him any vitamin supplements?

98 is really warm for a gecko on the warm side - especially if that's the air temperature with a heat light over head. I like my cool side to be closer to 75 to provide an adequate gradient. 35% humidity is also super low. Does he have a moist hide he can soak in?

It may be a good idea to fill out the complete info asked at the top of this thread: http://geckoforums.net/f130-health-medications/70912.htm
