Hello,

I'm New to the forum and a first time breeder. I have 2 eggs that were laid on 2/28. They have been incubating at 81 deg. I have candled the eggs and they appear to be good firtile eggs(pink in color) and have seen growth(change in embryo size). Today when I came home I noticed that both eggs have collapsed. One looks like it has leeked some fluid. Does this mean they are about to hatch or have the eggs gone bad?

Over 70 days incubation is a long time at 81 degrees. Sorry to say, they probably should have hatched before now. How are you keeping the eggs? What ratio or water to incubation medium are you using? Collapsed does not sound promising but if you get the conditions right sometimes the eggs bounce back and surprise you. It will also help to be ready for the next set if this one isn't okay.

Cool. I've been incubating at 82 and the first nine of mine to hatch were bewtween 62-64 days. That's why I was thinking over 70 would be a stretch. Congrats on your first one! Mack snow? She's cute!
