Color change?

Anyone ever notice male Leos seem to change color, atleast mine do? It seems ever shed they are getting darker.

Is that from their housing or its just a male gecko thing? My female is as bright as ever.

All leopard geckos change in coloring while they grow and shed for at leaste 6 months to a year. I have a 5 year old male that still looks the same as he did last year. My females sure are changing still except for my 5 year old female. She still looks the same as last year.

changin of colors can mean a variety of things. all the way down to being stressed.

Hmmm i check their weight every week, change water everyday, check their heat side everyday. Never more then 1 poop in my tanks at one time. Gutload and dust food, and give vitamins every 2 feedings.

My males are both over a year old (approx 16 months old) and gaining weight steady one is 64 grams the other is 100 grams. The 100 gram male has went from 80 to 100 grams in 2 months.

I heard that males turn darker as they get older.

My male alwasy gets darker when he is about to shed. same with m female. But once they shed they are bright again

How old is your male? I have had some geckos that change from like SHT to a really white ghost look and then never change back...

he is about 8 months. its crazy beacuase he will look like a tang thand all the sudden look high yellow. he sheds so much every two week like clockwork. same with my female she almost looks like what the call a ghost morph when tshe sheds, but then is very bright with nice lav bands.
