I bought two geckos awhile ago, I think November?, and they were both around the same size. They were both healthy and eating great. My SHTCT has really done well, he's shed 7 times, roughly every 2 weeks. He's got a great fat tail and is still eating well.
Now my smaller high yellow is doing ok too, but has only shed 3 times that have been pretty far apart. That's not really the part that worries me, geckos grow at different rates. The thing that I'm concerned about is recently he (or she but for now I'll say he) hasn't been eating much. He's very active, still drinks and licks at the calcium alot, but has only eaten 6 mealworms, 4 crickets and 2 waxworms since Jan. 19. Sounds decent but it's only been like 2-3 items a day, where as before he'd eat around 6-7 crickets/mealworms.
He hasn't lost a ton of weight, his tail has never been overly fat but it's not overly skinny either. I know that some people's geckos "slow down" in the winter, but my temperatures have been stable since I've got them. Anyway, I'm hoping his appetite will pick up soon but for now is there a reason I should be worrying?
