So what is the answer?
I often read 2 things: 1) don't let the eggs get wet; 2) eggs begin to "sweat" when they are due to hatch soon.
So I usually wipe off the condensation on the bottom of my incubation deli cups. I haven't seen an egg sweat, and I am waiting on my first egg to hatch (day 51 @ 81F today) so maybe it isn't time yet?? However, I have seen:
1) condensation occurs over empty space and over eggs that molded (coincidence)
2) many nice-looking eggs in my incubator have no condensation on the lid over them.
3) my oldest egg just started accumulating condensation on the lid over it at Day 49.....
Overall, I THINK "good eggs" absorb moisture and this prevents condensation on the lid directly OVER that egg.... so hopefully, my "Day 51 egg that just started over-head condensation" has stopped absorbing moisture because it will be hatching soon??![]()
