i'm a littler confused about housing a leo. Many caresheets say a 10gallon is fine but experienced owners say that a 20gallon long should be the minimum, but when i was looking at post about 20gallons (long) members claimed you can fit 2 or 3 Leo's in it.

So which one is it? And can I house an average sized adult female leo ALONE in a 15 gallon (long ?), dimensions are 24in x 12.5in x 13.

Thanks in advance..

I think most would say that a 10 gallon is the minimum you want to house ONE leo in. But a 20 gallon long would be more comfortable for an adult leo, in my opinion anyway. I currently have my 75 gram female in a 20 long (she is about 10 months old), and then I have my 6-7 month old who is about 55 grams in a 10 gallon. I think it's a little small for him, so I hope to soon upgrade him to a bigger one, but it fits him fine really.

And yes, you can house two leos in a 20 gallon long, as long as they get along properly and you have enough hides for each one and watch their eating. But as for your one leo, a 15 gallon would be fine.

You can live in an apartment, but wouldn't you rather have a house?

I would say yes. Although a ten gallon may be sufficient, you might find it difficult to fit appropriate cage furnishings inside of one.

I agree 10gallons aren't big enough, when I had my Leo, Petunia it was pretty cramped but then I upgraded her to a tank that was 36x12 and it was too big for me to clean and sanitize the way I liked, but I no longer have room for it since once she died I vowed to never have another reptile and bought bigger furniture. Now i'm having Leo withdrawl and MUST get a another one, just trying to get an enclosure that comfortable for the leo, easy for me to clean when I have to and fits in my room comfortably.
