Ok so I just picked up two nice geckos from some California breeders at the san Jose show. One is a female snow bell enigma and the other is a male tang 66 percent het radar. What does the 66 percent mean? And also what could the offspring end up being? Thanks for the help guys. I'll also post some pics tomorrow of the pair.

When you cross two geckos het for a recessive trait, you will hatch approximately 1/4 homozygous for the trait, 2/4 het for the trait, and 1/4 normal. Both the hets and the normal all look the same, so the offspring are sold as 66% het, which is short for "2/3 (66%) chance that this gecko is het for the trait." Test breeding is used to determine whether or not a particular gecko is het for the trait. Because RADAR is a combination of two separate traits (Bell albino and Eclipse), there are four possible outcomes for your male:

1. He is het for Bell albino and Eclipse
2. He is het for Bell albino but not for Eclipse
3. He is het for Eclipse but not for Bell albino
4. He is not het for either trait

Thanks Tony. hopefully he is het for both. But with my pair I will only be able to find out if he is het for bell, right?
