I have been reading through some threads about what kind of calcium to be used with your gecko. Some say use calcium with D3 some say don't,use calcium phosphorus free and then with phosphorus. I am confused:main_huh: I use fluker's calcium with vitamin d3 phosphorus free.I keep a small dish of it in the tank and dust the crickets 1-2 times a week with it. Am I doing something wrong?

Okay. I'll see if I can find some at the pet store. But what I'm doing so far seems to work so I might stick with the d3 in the dish if the regular calcium is an outrageous price. I'll make a stop and see today.

Example of Calcium without D3 to use as something you leave in a dish/bottle cap in the tank at all time: http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Repti...PHL8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308588312&sr=8-1

That one is phosphorous free, and it's a big container that'll last you over a year (8 oz). Yet the price is cheaper than what you find in pet stores at usually 2 oz bottles.

Example of vitamin supplement to shake & bake (dust) with your daily feeds: http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Reptivite-Without-Vitamin/dp/B00167S5GC/ref=pd_sbs_k_3

Combine the two you should have healthy leopard geckos. I know this subject has been covered so many times on various reptile forums. But most threads I've read end up with people arguing with each other over D3 and such, that they forget to link people the actual things they should buy. So newbies head to pet stores and end up getting the wrong things (me) and end up spending way too much money. I've been here and this subject can be very confusing, so it's totally understandable to ask.

I personally also have a calcium with D3 on hand, which I give once a week. It's probably overkill, but they, I love my leopard geckos.

Hope this helps :)

I got Rep-Cal No Phosphorus-no vitamin d3.Will this work? Also I noticed that it has a slightly grayish tint to it and a different smell than my flukers with d3.Is this normal?

The grey stuff is what I have that's the pure calcium for the calcium dishes. I think that's fine. I don't know what the brand is, it was put in a plastic baggie at the reptile show. But I use that, and I dust with the Rep-Cal stuff.
