I have fed my Leos giant mealworms only for as long as I can remember and lately they have not been eating them (very much) and i am concerned on if they are eating enough PERIOD! I weigh them once a week on Wed. and thier weight seems to be pretty consistant, and they look super healthy too. I have tried a few waxworms and crickets too...and they just die before getting eaten. Also recently a friend that I have on here (my only friend...HINT HINT!) has borrowed my stud, a male jungle (super?) giant het RAPTOR, and I guess he fed my leo a couple of roaches the other day and he ate them. I suppose I am just asking your straight out OPPINION on the whole thing...and any suggestions or comments to make it better.

Sometimes leos get bored with their food and need a change. Some are shy eaters, some are picky. A lot of folks feed roaches. During breeding season it's not uncommon for good eaters to go off food, which is frustrating to us humans. But they have one thing on their minds and food doesn't come into the picture.

laney is dead on. i alternate my feedings between roaches, supers, and mealies. i have geckos that lose almost 20 grams during breeding season just because they are wired to reproduce. one important thing to remember is that leos need belly heat to digest their food. i noticed on another thread that your temps were in the 80s. that needs to be closer to the mid 90s to be optimum. if you have your geckos housed together in a colony, you might even try seperating them individually to get a better idea of what's going on. i had a 1.4 colony going recently and had to do the same thing. i have one female gecko that started gaining weight, while the rest started losing. miss piggy got her own tub, lol

Thank you all for your advise...maybe a warmer temp and separateing are in order. Please further this discussion if you feel it necessary.
