Confusion over a color...

So when my boyfriend and I were shopping around the other day we decided to stop into Petco and see what kinds of reptile supplies they had for sale. Instead of being wise and avoiding the animals I went right up to the leopard gecko area and took a peek at the babies they had. Being impressed by the setup (heatpad, moist hide, cage carpeting, calcium dish and mini mealworms) and noticing the plumpness of the babies I decided to take a closer look.

One of the largest and most alert babies had green patches of color on the sides of her/his bands. S/he had solid yellow and purple bands (the purple was a lot lighter than the purple on the other hatchlings) and lower on her/his sides s/he had the green patches. Now I've seen pictures of the emerald and what emerald hatchlings are supposed to look like, but this baby looked nothing like that. S/he looked like a normal hatchling, but with the green patches... Has anyone seen this before?

Also another note about this baby... The green patches were a green like this. Sorry, I wish I would have taken some pictures but I didn't have my camera at the time...

The next time I go back I'll check and see if s/he is there so I can get some pictures. That one was so cute and chubby, plus s/he had such a great personality.

But yeah, any ideas on this one? Is it simply just some odd coloring or just a weird emerald?

EDIT: I also wanted to mention the the tail colors were the purple and white like a normal, and not like a tangerine.

It's from a blending of the yellow and lavender colors... It's not totally normal. but not that uncommon either... Most of the time the lavender color is taken over completely by the yellow as they age...
