Reptile guy in pets at home told me to put the rock hide with moss in on the cold side of the viv. I also have a sort of coconut hide without moss on the hot side.
Just noticed one of the geckos in the hot side now at 3pm which I thought was unusual so googled it and found a gecko caresheet saying the hide should be on the hot side, but its ok to have another hide on the cold side.

want everything perfect.
should I swap the hides around and have the one with moss in on the hot side, and the one without moss on the cold side?

and another continued question, whether yes or no to the above, what about moss in both hides?

regards

Actually leopard geckos need 3 hides at least. one humid hide on the warm side, a dry hide on the warm side and a hide on the cool side. So I would put the humid hide on the warm side and the coconut hide on the warm side, then put a hide on the cool side.

Cheers pal, I will get another 1/2 coconut hide they are only cheap

So they do only need 1 humid hide though is that correct?

1 humid on warm, and 2 dry on each side

Right Dstruct. I don't put the humid hide on the cool side for a couple of reasons.
1 - Heat + Moisture = Humidity
2 - I personally wouldn't find a cold and wet hiding place very comfortable

You just need one humid hide on the warm side, I mist mine everyday. Then the dry warm hide and another hide on the cool side. :)
