Converted Bookcase to Gecko Tower

I felt really crafty one weekend and decided to try to create some gecko cages out of a walmart bookcase into a gecko cage...and this is what I got (please keep in mind I suck with tools and anything sharp so I was quite excited). It's heated by 4 inch flexwatt plugged into a rheostat, tile for flooring (wash clothes now too). Plexi-glass is used for the doors and an added lip inside. Please excuse my ghetto cage separators lol.

I think it looks pretty good too!
I know exactly how you feel... sharp things dont like me and mostly just want to stick in my fingers than actually cut something. >_<

haha thank you! Yup anything with cords I will trip over and if there is a sharp object on one end, it usually results in my doom but not this time...mwahha. I am building another one soon so I'm hoping that this next one can seem a bit less ghetto since I sort of understand what I am doing now lol. Ohhh if only my leo's knew how much I love them...

Thanks everyone :)...except Jen lol. I told you I will make one for you guys if you want. I still need to make my second one. This is what happens when a nerd gets bored...thought spew out onto paper and a month later bam...i have an evil creation. And yes, I am guilty of using left over tiles from when we converted all the carpet in the house to tile lol...I am an efficient cheapskate.

Feel free lol...that's actually how the idea spawned. I have one huge bookcase as a dvd rack and the small 3 tiered one for books and I was staring at it one day thinking hmmm...that would be a perfect size for some leo's :). It's just about the same width, minus half an inch, as a 20 gallon too so it is well suited IMO...call me biased.

wow that is very nice looking! soon I need another reptile rack for growing babies but we have some book shelves on clearance at my work so maybe I can borrow your idea and modify it into segmenting it a little more for growing leos :D
