Converting a 10 gallon

Since we've been putting all of our leos into the new rack and plan on building another rack... we'll have a few 10 gallon tanks at our disposal. Was trying to figure out how to effeciently come up with a way to convert them for the cresties so that we can turn the tank on it's side (narrow end down, standing up) and create some kind of door with plexi glass or wire rather than going with some high priced item.

Have any of you guys tried this? How did you do it? And ho well does it work?

It would save us SOOOO much space if we could pull it off.
