correct temp

I am very concerned about both of the leos right now. As most of you already know i am a first timer at this and have a rescue and a baby. i have had them for almost 2 weeks now.

I am very worried that the temperature is wrong. During the night and day they are always in there hide, and i don't think they are drinking. i have an UTH on one side, and a "basking lamp" that i use as well. I have a 25WATT bulb in the lamp. the tank seems about room temp, and we keep our house very cold so that i know isn't a good thing. I am very worried about them, how can i get the temp up! I have an appointment with the vet in a few days, they are eating and drink when i put the water on their nose. I am also feeding Marcia's slurry to them as well.
Thank you all!

Do you have thermometers in the tank? You really should have them (one on the warm side and one on the cool side) because just putting your hand in to feel how warm it is really isn't going to give you an accurate temperature. There is no way to determine if the temp is wrong or not if you don't really know what exactly it is. Also- you did not mention if there was a problem that your geckos are having, you only said that you are worried. Is there something going on with them? I don't think geckos really drink very much anyway, so I wouldn't be worried if you don't see your geckos drinking out of the water dish.

Make sure you get the temps from the bottonm of the tank not the air temp. Thats a common mistake. Put the temp probe on the bottom of the tank on the warm side , get the reading and repeat on the cold side.

Agreed. Leopard geckos need belly heat at around 90-92 degrees on the warmest spot. The ambient air temperature is not that important, so unless the UTH is not keeping the surface at the correct temperature, there is no need for overhead heat.

Can you tell us where they are hanging out most of the time in their enclosure?

under the hide, (warm) and sometimes halfway out but still on the UTH.
