Could we get a sticky thread for this section?

I was thinking maybe we could get a sticky thread about sand and other loose substrate with why it's bad, what happens and possibly some links to sites that show what can happen. Leave the thread locked or unlocked.

Just a thought since we seem to get the sand question a few times a day it seems.

Andrew, I have been breeding/keeping Leopard Geckos for 13 years, and there will ALWAYS be sand substrate debates. A 'sticky' will not solve the issue, I'm afraid. As much information as there is out there about the risks of using sand as a substrate, you would think that leopard gecko keepers would want to avoid it, but the truth is that people sometimes dont' care... and will do what they want.

It's a good suggestion. But we can't force anyone to read it or follow it. Too bad, because many of our beloved geckos die needlessly as a result.

well..some people would read it because they have questions about what are good and bad substrates..even though it won't change everyones' mind, im sure a couple people will read and pay attention to it. i think it would be worth a shot
