Covering River Rocks with Grout?

I have some nice Natural River Rocks that I found in a Stream near my house. I have boiled, and scrubbed them. I was wondering if you could coat them with grout? I want to give them a desert look.

I would think the smoothness of them could make it difficult. You could always spray them with the stone like krylon spray paint and seal it maybe.

The rocks are pretty rough

Why don't you just try it? Seems like it would work.

I have never seen a rough river rock either lol
