Crazy female reaction to smell of a male?

Okay, so today I got my new male gecko, before putting him in his tank I weighed him in a plastic tub I use for weighing all of the geckos in.

A couple of hours later I used the container to keep the females in while I changed over there tank from bark to paper towel. When I put the tub down in the tank so it was easy to put the females in, my blazing blizzard started rushing towards the tub with her tongue poking out, she then tried to bite the side of the tub and shook her whole body a couple of times. Now they are back in and she is back to normal again, what made her go so crazy? was it the smell of a male?

Thanks, Ben.

Not sure on that one, will check tomorrow when I next handle them or will have a peak if she comes out of her hide later :)
She seemed to really hate the smell of the male, or was she just in the mood and couldn't resist?

Sorry this has nothing to do with the behavior of your female...
Have you read up on quarantine procedures?

The male should not be in contact with anything that the females are in contact with and vice versa. You should be washing your hands before and after handling the male, anything in his tank, and anything he has been in contact with. The same procedure should be used anytime you acquire a new animal. A quarantine period of 3 months is recommended.
