crazy male gecko

I have quite a fun story for you guys, okay so I got a new shipment of geckos today in the mail. One of my male albino trempers was big, quite bigger than I thought he would be he is at least 100 grams minimum! Well I had him in a 42 quart tub for temporary keeping until i'm positive he has no parasites. I kept the lid off because I was adding water and mealworms to his tub and he crawls straight out. Straight up a foot tall plastic wall. I was like woah gotta watch this one. I put the lid on his tub and did my normal day stuff...4 hours later I see him crawling out of the tub! he squeezed through a quarter sized hole in the middle of the lid...I was like that's not even possible. He saw me walking towards him, he jumped off my 4 foot counter, onto the kitchen floor and ran like hell to get under the sofa. Is that not the weirdest thing you've ever heard a leo do???

What's weird is that you have a sofa in your kitchen? lol j/k

I hope he is ok!! :O and yeah, get another lid, and drill smaller holes. I would even find a container that I can "snap" the lid shut (if that one doesn't), because he is probably strong enough to push up a weighted-down lid. :O

I put him in a small cage with a tight lid, put a 3 pound bottle of listerine on the top and he knocked the whole cage over. This guy is intense lol

To answer that question, 30 days is minimum, 90 days is safer. Here are a few good articles regarding quarantine practices:

He is just huge for being 1 year old. I think he might be close to 150-170 grams when he's done growing completely
