creamic heat emitter for ball python

how many of you guys/gals us a creamic heat emmiter for you ball? im using one now to keep the temps up at night and he seems to love it he comes out a lot more at night and even during the day to take a drink of water or to switch sides but befor all he did was stay in his hides whats your guys opinion?

I'd steer clear of using lamps of any type.

Reason is that ball pythons need belly heat so the best option is to provide a UTH attached to a thermostat. Also balls are poor judges of intense heat and have been known to wrap themselves around bulbs and literally cook themselves.

Another reason I'd stick with UTH's is that balls are generally secretive animals and forcing it out to get heat to digest its food can cause stress on the animal.

My entire collection of balls use UTH on the warm side set to about 90F, with the cool side at ambient temps.

I agree, ditch the heat emitter.

Seems to me the change in behavor that your ball is exibiting, he maybe stressed and dehydrated.

there is always water in there and he comes and goes on the warm side i have a hide right under the heat emitter and a rock hide on the other as soon as i can get my camera to work ill post a pic or two
