Crested Gecko Enclosure Size

I have an adult crested gecko in a 18x18x24 Exo Terra right now, which is equal to 33 gallons. I know many sources recommend a 20-gallon vertical enclosure or bigger, but I was wondering if I should upgrade to a bigger enclosure for my gecko. They are not a very big gecko, only about 6 1/2 inches in length.

It sounds like an adequate enclosure, but whether or not to upgrade is up to you. Does your gecko seem like it needs more space?

Any advice on how to start to handle them…? I just got a baby gargoyle and they are very similar in care so was just wondering

I don't have that much experience in handling shy geckos because my gecko is easy to handle. Maybe try to get him used to your presence and ease him into handling.

Just started handling three days ago and he’s already as docile as most adults. So sweet

Males in 45x45x60 exos. And females I use 60x45x60 and keep in pairs or trios.
