crested gecko food question

i just got my crested gecko about 4 days ago. i picked up the repashy gecko food. so far he has not touched the stuff. i tong feed him three small criks but i was told that their main diet should be the gecko food. i have heard that you can mix the gecko food with baby food and slowly add more gecko food untill thats all that its eating, is that ture? thanks

yeah you can add baby food in and makes it sweeter i guess but you deff want to ween him off it. and even though it doesnt look like any food is gone that doesnt mean he's not eating it. i though the same thing too when i got my first little guy but he kept growing so he must have been eating. you can also dust the crickets with the diet powder sometimes, i do that occasionally too... hope this helps

I was the same way with mine.

Is your crestie pooping?
If so, he's eating.

I would advise against baby food. The CGD is the best thing he can eat.
I supplement with dusted crickets every 2-3 days.

Exactly what she said. It can take 2-3 weeks for a new crested to start eating the cgd again and when they do, there is a good chance you will not see them eat. They eat at night when you are not watching them. As they grow and get more comfortable you will occasionally see them eat when you put the food in.

You dont need any baby food added. I've bought a lot of cresteds that were on baby food and they switched with no problems only adding water. Baby food can cause you big problems later on too.

lol thanks! i guess its a good thing i forgot the baby food when i was out today! lolol yes he is pooping so he must be eating something besides the criks! lolol thanks again!!
