I just got my crested gecko two days ago :)
He is two weeks old the store told me...
He is doing great so far! He loves is baby food for sure though..
Hasn't taken to crickets or worms (I was told worms were a last resort but tried it anyways) too much not quite what to do.
I want to make sure he is eating enough and getting protein.

Well, heres some pics: (He was very hard to photograph)

you should try to stay away from baby food. It doesnt have the right nutrition or vitamins. Crested Gecko Diet is much better for them. You can mix in some baby food, but only as a treat. Hope all stays well

Nice looking gecko!
My 2 cents...
What size tank is s/he in? For hatchings I suggest you put them in a small-med KK for the first few months. But that baby looks older than 2 weeks (in the picture), do you have its weight? Don't worry about crickets for the next few weeks and get them on CGD, as said above, baby food is not the best diet. It maybe hard to switch but try. If you have to you can mix 50% baby food with the CGD if they take longer than a week - 2 weeks to take the CGD. Then tapper off on the baby food over some time. Also what kind of worms are you talking about? I don't suggest giving them meal worms at this age, they cant digest them. Phoenix worms are fine for them and very good if you can get them interested in them.

Yes, definately no baby food especially at that age not even mixed. Stay with cgd & crickets and you wont have to worry about any problems later on. At that age it should go right for the cgd anyway.

Yeah he is really cute, I wish the camera would show off his orange more.
he is very orangy.

Ok, no baby food check. Can anyone give a link to buy the diet? I hate ordering on the internet esp if I don't know the credible link.
He has only had it for the pass two nights so I don't think there is any major problems. I just didn't know what else to give him!

And I wouldn't even consider mealworms for him, they were small wax worms.
Just to get something down him.

He is in a exo terra, I am not sure of the dimensions but one of the smaller ones. I know its not wise to keep them in larger ones because they have trouble finding food.

It seems almost impossible to catch them on film when they are little! Nice job chasing him around for a shot. I've yet to capture my 2 new ones' colors on film either.

I would suggest ordering the CGD from Pangea Reptile. There are some pretty good tips here, but judging from your answers you've done some research already. Welcome to the fun of keeping Crested Geckos! :main_thumbsup:

Yep Pangea is a great place to get cgd, also geckoranch.com.
If you only have the one you could try petco, they sell the smaller bottles.

Actually I went to petsmart today to get calcium for my leopards and found Sandfire super food crested gecko diet by t-rex. The funny thing is I used to work there and have stocked it so many times I always just thought it was another kind of calcium dust.
It smells like bananas I almost want to try it lol
BUT
I have good news! I decided to buy some small crickets anyways for him, just to see.
I am dumping them in and out of nowhere BAM rusty gets one and starts chomping it down and then right after another. His hunting was amazing! He ate right in front of me which felt like a privilege almost! He was very cute.

I am thinking maybe it was stress that caused him not to eat before.

Well it says it "replaces" crickets.
I know to do the CGD every night, but how often should I do crickets now?

Oh, and moosassah he is very good tempered and allows me to gently hold him everyday despite it size. So the photos were hard because the quality was kinda hindered (you can't see his color and I didn't want to take him out and risk him escaping) but he was very good with it. He usually jumps back on his live plants but he doesn't run away from me at all when I go to get him. I kinda just put a finger underneath him and he hops on. He is going to be great
I am hoping to make a family in the future. :)

Oh, and thank you :)
I take that as a huge compliment. I am not an expert by far, but I try to take pride in finding information and correcting it.
The guy at pets inc (Its the best pet store in AZ..although they are not always right either I find but they are usually close or on the mark) says the same thing about me.
He laughs at my questions sometimes but says its good that I ask instead of just assuming. He says I make a good pet parent.

You can feed the cgd only with no crickets or if you want to feed crickets you can do it once or twice a week and the days you're not feeding crickets feed cgd. The great thing about cgd is that if you dont want to use crickets you dont have to:main_thumbsup: It would be nice if Leos were the same way:)
