I have only been caring for cresteds for few months now. Every care sheet I have read says that they do not drink from standing water because they can not see it? Well maybe they just can feel the humidity change, because I have seen 2 of my 4 drink from the bowl has anyone else seen this? Just wanted to throw this out there!

I have seen mine drink. but I also mist.

If you want, heres a trick I did when I was rehabilitation a chameleon that was abused,

Get a airstone and the bubbles with make the water move, its cheaper than buying a reptile waterfall and its effective, but you may want to get a deep dish.

If you had a waterfall, would it be safe to put in with cresties?

I know reptile breeders who have cresties that have learned to drink from a bowl. While they don't drink from standing water in nature, they seem to adapt well enough in captivity. I still use misters for my girl, but I like the fact that they can go either way.

I used to keep a deep bowl of water to increase humidity in my girl's cage. I bought an air stone and pump and would bubble the water for a couple of hours a day. Unfortunately, my timer broke, and then the bowl broke. I've heard that cresties can't swim, so I don't let my girl have access to water deeper than her knees. This container had a screen top, so the water saturated air bubbles would rise into the cage and increase humidity.

i never tried a bowl but i believe they can tell water if they maybe step in it or touch it, once they figure out its in a bowl i can see them using one.

my two drink from their bowl all the time, but they do enjoy when I spray the sides of the tank or the fake plant leaves and they will lick the droplets.

I put water dishes in my tanks as well but I have never seen them drink from a dish. But who knows, they may just not like being seen doing something like that, they don't like eating with me watching as well, but I know they do.
