Would either of these be a good treat for my cresties or should I just stick to the multiple flavors of cgd when I want to mix it up for them? Screenshot_2013-09-11-18-21-17-1.png Screenshot_2013-09-11-18-20-43-1.png

You could try it, but in my experience cresties aren't really the type to go for treats. I've tried putting real fruit in for mine and they've never touched it, so you may be wasting your money with those products. Cresties love their CGD. To "treat" mine, I'll add a new branch or plant to their cage, since they like to climb/hide, it's something they'll actually use.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money since they haven't liked other stuff I've tried... I have tried mixing blended fruit into their CGD and it wasn't a big hit. Only 1 out of 3 was willing to try the strawberries and no one tried the blueberries.

It might be tough to get your cresties to eat those food products. What are your current food staples?

They just eat Repashy. I tried dubias and no one was interested. I ordered some Clark's to try and I'm also thinking about getting Big Fat Gecko Smoothie for them.

Hi there! I actually do have some experience with treats. My Cresteds do not like most treats, HOWEVER they love some mashed banana. I recommend buying a fresh banana from a local produce market or something, and then grab a small piece and mush it up and then try feeding it to your gecko. It is nutritionally very good for the gecko, and is very natural compared to all of those store bought food items. Even though it is good for the gecko, it does not have proper calcium content, so I would recommend only feeding the banana as a treat, once a week.
I don't think your gecko will like those canned foods, and it will probably just be a waste of money for you. So I recommend not buying those. Repashy CGD is very good for them, so yes, feeding him Repashy CGD most of the time is gonna be what you'll want for your gecko.

But, if you want to try it, there is a new Crestie food called Pangea Fruit Mix which has banana and papaya mixed together which is good for your gecko. I'd give it a shot. It has very good reviews.

Sadly, it seems like your gecko does not like insects. Captive bred Blaptica dubia, brown crickets, waxworms, phoenix worms, and mealworms are a great source of protein and variety for your gecko. Luckily, my girls love insects, which is fortunate, considering that lots of geckos are picky towards insects. Hope that helps!

I tried the Pangea Fruit Mix and my crested, gargs and leaches cleaned their dishes out. Really surprised me as they have never been really big eaters before.

I've got some bananas so I'll see if they like that... if they do I might get the pangea mix instead of big fat geckos.

Oh I was also going to ask if they can have watermelon?
I believe they can have watermelon but am uncertain. I've never tried it, although, it is probably fine. ALSO I wanted to tell you that Pangea recently came out with a COMPLETE (yay!) diet of the Fruit mix. It has added calcium, vitamins, and everything else to make it a fully nutritious diet for your gecko. This is made with Watermelon and Mango and apparently geckos go NUTS for it! Here's the link. I havent tried it, but I am going to order some very soon. http://www.pangeareptile.com/store/pfm-complete-crested-gecko-diet.html

I've tried giving my cresties mashed bananas, but they didn't touch it. So is the Pangea food an alternative to CGD or just something you use every once in a while?

since the Pangea fruit mix is not a complete diet, I feed it only once a week or every 3rd feeding. I see that Pangea has now posted a new complete diet, I will try that on my next order.

If you buy the regular fruit mix (Banana and Papaya mix) it shouldn't be the main source of food, but it definitely could be fed pretty often. BUT as I said above, Pangea just came out with a complete diet (Watermelon and Mango) and if you feed that, you don't have to give CGD, since the Watermelon and Mango version is a complete diet.

I knew about the pangea complete diet (saw it on a fb page) didn't even realize they had the other one haha... I did mix some mashed banana into their CGD today but nobody has touched it yet... They usually wait til the other animals lights have been off for a while before eating. I catch them if I go in there after it's been dark for a while.

My smallest crestie usually doesn't eat enough to even notice food is gone.... it ate all of the banana! The other 2 usually finish all their food and hardly any was gone so I guess they didn't like it much.
