Crestie not eating=/

So I have had my 3 month old crestie for about a month now (got him from Pangea). His name is Samy. Ever since I got him he has refused to eat. I feed him CGD, the stuff that you mix the nectar with base. If I shove the spoon in his face he will start licking his lips and I can get him to take a little bit. But he refuses to voluntarily take it from him food dish. I have also tried feeding him crickets, he refused. I tried 2 mealworms last weekend and he took them with no problem. But I have heard the mealworms aren't good and there is a high risk of impaction, so I don't want to do that again.
Basically, is this something I am doing wrong? How can I get Samy to eat? He is getting awful skinny and it makes me nervous...

Do you have a picture? I would bet that it is eating the diet, it is almost impossible to see if a small crested has eaten it or not by looking at the food. Matt feeds cgd so there shouldnt be an issue of the gecko not liking it.

i was on the same boat. my crested did not look like it was eating at all! so what i did was make a very shallow food bowl out of a bottle cap( only about 1/8" tall) and used that. i then could tell if she was eating. the bowl is now empty ever day and i have snced moved up to a larger bottle cap and i know she is eating.

I never can tell if my little ones are eating their cgd. I just watch to make sure there are potties in the cage. They eat such a tiny amount when they're small. You'll notice it as they get bigger. For bugs, just keep trying every so often. I got three from pangea recently. Two of the three are already eating roaches. The smallest one still just turns away from them. I will keep trying once or twice a week though. I know he'll/she'll eventually eat them. The others love them already.:)

Thanks guys:) I'll try downsizing the dish. I'm using a peanut butter jar cap at the moment. I'll try and get a pic up here in a moment.

Yea, that's the problem. A peanut butter top would be enough to feed a group of breeding adults:)
He looks fine to me, nothing to worry about

Oh I don't fill it up, I just put a little dab of CGD in the middle of it.

I like the crestie in your avatar there :)

Baby cresties have tiny stomachs and eat very very little. As long as your crestie doesn't look like it is losing weight and is still active at night, I wouldn't worry. It is prolly eating in the wee hours of the night and very little. I felt the same way when I got my first baby, until one night I stayed up to watch. Well around 4am I finally saw her eat!! She took 3 licks and was done. Now I can't get her to stop! Your little crestie will be leaving the bowl clean before you know it.
