I was wondering if cresties can eat whole fruit pieces? I was thinking about what they might eat in nature and I can't think of anything close to what we feed them in captivity aside from maybe rotting fruit. I tried searching google but couldn't really find anything specific. Thanks!

I woudlnt suggest whole fruits are their teeth are not made for cutting. Normally in nature they will lick from the over ripe fruits that would fall and break open on the forest floor. If you do want to offer fruit you will want to puree it and add extra water to it.

Alright thank you! My CGD should be coming today, so it's a non-issue. Are there any specific types of fruits to stay away from? I've heard you shouldn't feed citrus fruits.

Baby food is not a good choice for them, even if it is meant just for a treat. It is high in sugars and perservatives that they dont need.

If fed the CGD as their main diet, no crickets or any other feeder insect is not needed for these guys. You can offer them, but since CGD is fully balanced, there is no need it is more or less a treat/ mental enrichment thing for them.

Straight up fruit that is pureed is not meant to be a large part of their diet. If you feel like every few weeks giving your gecko a treat, that is fine, but you will want to add in a dash of calcium when you puree the fruit up.
