Does any one do anything special with there crickets to make them easier for the geckos to catch or prevent biting? I read that one person pops off all the legs on one side of the cricket to keep them from getting to the geckos and biting them. Does anyone else prep there crickets to make them better for there geckos?:main_huh:

I always take the jumping legs off, though I do sometimes remove the legs from one side of them like you mentioned. Haha, I'd hate to be any cricket intended for my two XD

As for the biting part, they don't really get the chance to when my geckos grab them. The crunching usually means the cricket won't be biting anything anymore >.>

I always pull the back legs off for two reasons: 1) they're easier for them to catch and 2) the back legs have spines on them, I'm afraid that the spines will get caught in one of my girls throats.

That being said, I don't take the legs off the baby crickets that I feed Blaze. They're too small, and everytime I try I rip their bodies apart. I also figure because they are smaller their spines are less developed.

Tonight I didn't remove the crickets legs, just to see how good of hunters my two girls are. They still didn't have any problems catching them, but it's not something I'm going to do often... just every once in a while to give them some excersize! lol
