My boyfriend and I have been working on a few new things for our girls' terrarium and I wanted to show off what we have so far. My boyfriend is working on the holder and I am making the small hide.

What do you think?

Neat! Those look pretty good :) What materials did you use to build them?

They're both made out of styrofoam and I used a silicone adhesive to glue the pieces of the hide together. Next step is to grout them, which we'll hopefully do tonight.

I'm also gonna start working on a background for a corner of the terrarium. I'll keep you guys updated :)

What's the cost in something like this?

We just went yesterday for more supplies and it was around $30 maybe a little more at Lowes. We got a 25lb bag of unsanded grout, some liquid nails, a utility square, and a sheet of styrofoam...8ft probably more (not sure how tall because I've already started using it lol)

I recently got a heated blade at a craft store to make cutting the styrofoam easier but if you go that route make sure you have some kind of mask with a filter to wear over your mouth and nose....the fumes from the sytrofoam are pretty toxic.

You'll also need some non-toxic acrylic paint and some kind of sealer.

Here's some pictures of the completed water and food dish holder. I painted it with non toxic acrylic paint and used a hot glue gun to glue the river rocks and aquarium grass. What do you guys think?

O, and a picture of the girls using it for the first time :)

Wow, your girls sure are spoiled XD Makes me wanna run to Home Depot and get started on making that second layer to Rin's tank.....and remodel everything lol. Looks amazing, very jealous right now and that was a brilliant idea by the way. Very very nice job.

I made something similar to this. Im completely changing a wall unite made for a tv and decorations, into cages. Its pretty cool. Accept i made a giant back wall that they can climb on, and i made mine out of sanded grout and screening to form the shape. I like the way yours has a lot of decorations.
