Geckos are smart and know how to get my focus. All of my geckos learned if their water low or empty they sit by it or sleep in it.

Sometimes sleeping in water is a sign the humid hide isn't humid enough. You might want to check that.

One of my geckos does that and the other one just hide underneath a branch leg and sleep

Cute! My gecko's water dishes aren't big enough, but my little skinks will sleep in the water dish from time to time. Now they mostly poop in it.
