Cutting nails

I don't have a beardie yet but I was wondering if you have to cut their nails? If so, how does that go with them? I know most dogs don't like it.

When I had my beardie we just put a large rough rock in their tank and it filed them down.

sara that is an increadable idea!! ill keep it in mind while im vending and ppl ask about clipping the nails. on the other hand this is what i do personally, and recomend to other people. i use pair of clippers like these

you need to treat the dragon like a bird or dog. dont cut past the quick and you will be fine.

Beardies seem to be really docile, at least mine do. I usually just take them in to my local pet store (not a chain pet store, a family owned one.) and they use clippers to cut them. My beardies will just down and allow you to cut them. You can also use a rock as Pepper said.

I have found that tile works pretty well. When i got my beardie the nails where getting overly long well i put him on tile and was letting him adjust but when i went to cut them the nails where fine.

Thanks everyone. That was helpful. If I decide to get one I will be sure to have to rocks in there & if I have to at times, cut the nails myself. Doesn't sound too bad. Thanks again for your replies.
