VitD and VitA are fat soluable vitamins that can build up in the body and have a potential for toxicity when used too much. I believe that nocturnal geckos like leos require an occasional amount of Vit D3.
My vet said to only give them D3 once a week or even once every other week. Like Golden Gate said, these creature are nocturnal and do not require D3 like dinural reptiles do. Also be careful with your multivitamins and check the label, some of them have small amounts of D3 in them.
I got calcium with D3 in it so I should not leave a bowl of that in there all the time? SHould I get just calcium without it and leave that in there and then get D3 and add it once a week. I am so confused
Yes get pure calcium and use that in the dish. Use the D3 to dust feeders once a week as he's growing, less often as he's an adult. You'll also want a multi vitamin to dust feeders with. I know you got Rep Cal Calcium w/D3, Rep Cal also have the pure calcium and the Herptivite Multi Vitamin.
