I saw on VMS Herps they have 2 geckos that are listed as SHCT but are very dark with little yellow on them. Just figured I'd post this in case any one was trying to acheive black geckos maybe they'd take a look.

I saw that was interested. Someone on a different forum is getting one of them but i was thinking about getting the other. They are really cool looking. Ive never seen a SHTCT that dark. In any case there beautiful leos. :)

With it being that dark how can they call it a SHTCT? It's hard to see the orange in the tail and with all the black how could you call it hypo let alone super hypo?

Wow, they look like backed geckos!

There's also a baby blizzard and an adult patternless that are pretty dark, too.

Hm... I went searching through the web for dark leos like this. I found some Go to The Urban Gecko website and look at the leo under the collection and Carrot tail section. Theres 2 dark colored "chestnut" SHCT

Urbans chestnut are very nice. I've been looking for them in over a year...

I want to show my Blackie. I "found" her at a breeder who have quit breeding leopardgeckos, but this lady was his darling (wounder why??). She is 6 years and met a male for the fist time when I got her in spring 2006. I hope I can bring black babies for sale about 2008-2009. But I got a long waiting list and I don't know if this gene is recessive or have to be selective breed. She was how ever a mutation from wild colored parents. They have got a lot of offsprings bur Blackie was the only black one. She was hatched quite normal and grow darker for every single cast.
Her parents are F1 from Afghanistan, born in the early '90.

You can see this is not a midnight blizzard and not a SH. And the marks at her back will tell us this is a revers stripe or a circle back. All the off spring from her parents was some sort of big marking jungle:

In normal light you can't see this markings becaurse she is so dark!

But when she is new casted and in very good day light you can se them:

Look at this tail! If I can produce a new morph, it will be called Black Velvet...

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I promiss you ;)

The most interesting with her is the fact she isn't selective breed, but a mutation. That's why i got so interested in her...
I've seen a lot of dark geckos, like Urbans, and midnight or selective breedings. But she is outstanding, I think...
