from ember het DB x BB het raptor

the breeder told me that it is BB het m.patty., but when I look at its eye the right side is 50% red then the left side is almost 80% red., that's why i thought it might be a DB., need your opinion guys., TIA and more power :)

I'm not 100% sure since I don't have experience working with the blizzard trait but from what I understand it often does strange things to eyes and can make them look like they are eclipsed when they're not. Someone with more experience working with them will hopefully chime in :)

thanks for the reply dr, but if i cross it with a raptor (BB poss DB het m.patty x RAPTOR) and the off springs turned out to be all raptors will that prove out that my BB is actually a DB? TIA

I'm honestly not sure. If the Blizzard gene is causing the eye pigmentation and they all have it I'm not sure if you can tell if it's due to eclipse or Blizzard. If you get eclipses that are not blizzard that would clue you in that it isn't the Blizzard. I just don't know enough about how Blizz affects eyes to say for sure.

If there's no chance that the babies are blizzard then solid/splotchy eyes and white nose/head/tail tip usually are the indicators I look for. It can be tough to tell the eyes 100% for a couple weeks since their eyes sometimes look solid when they hatch and color up over a couple of weeks but my eclipse babies have all had pretty obvious head markings. If they are Blizzards they should be solid white or close to it so the whiter splotches probably won't be visible or will be hard to see. Let me see if I can get a couple pics of my babies up so you can see what I mean :)

I'm planning to pair her (bb poss DB het m.pat) to a macksnow raptor

bb/DB het m.patty x macksnow raptor
assuming that it is a DB
with that pairing I am certain that it will give me

raptor 100% het blizzard 50% het m.patty
snow raptor 100% het blizzard 50% het m.patty

here comes the part that i will be waching for signs of eclipse right?
"If there's no chance that the babies are blizzard then solid/splotchy eyes and white nose/head/tail tip usually are the indicators I look for."

and if it is a BB
it will only give me

tremper 100% het eclipse, blizzard 50% het m.patty
snow tremper 100% het eclipse, blizzard 50% het m.patty

I really appreciate your help :)

Your calculations look spot on! I misread your previous posts and thought you said the raptor was het for blizzard or something. All the babies would be eclipses if your blizzard is eclipse. There are a couple of the first eclipse babies I hatched out this season. They're typhoons so not the same albino strain as your but they show the characteristic white nose, top of their head, and tail tip quite well. I think the feet are also kind of white but I have non eclipse geckos with better "gloves" so I don't usually use that as an indicator. :)

Good luck with yours!
