Soooooo.....been an on and off snake owner for several years (never really advertise it though) been through a number of species....mostly ones that were caught in the wild and released again when my mom would find out when I was a kid LOL...I've been dealing with Balls for about 9 months (this time, I had a ball about 10 years ago for 3 years, friend didn't want it anymore) and have been having a bit of sucess with the breeding introduction....nothing personally witnessed yet, but I'm hoping....

Anyway....I was thinkin of getting a burm as just a pet and maybe to breed quite a way down the road...but I'm not sure which yet....albino....or albino green............has anyone ever noticed a difference in temperment between the different morphs? Is one more laid back than the other? I love the look of both, but for now...one will do!

Another I was toying with was albino Bloods.....expensive I know! but it's red!!!!!

of course, none of this will happen till late summer early fall after we have moved and I've gotten my herp room set up in the basement with some serious locks on the doors(maybe fingerprint locks to keep my accomplice to the escapees daughter out) and a very nice naturalistic setup for whichever I choose. which BTW, if you haven't already posted pics of your setups for burms and bloods I would love to see them to get more ideas!

hey tonya i just seen this post now. and i really have to tell you, burms arent the best choice. i dont have to tell you they get big. and as for naturalistic setup, forget it. the simpler the better. if you want such a large snake, than your going to want as little in the way as possable when trying to accesse the snake. burms have increadable tempermants, but the size is a problem, and it only takes one mistake. i cant preach enough about how large they get, and i really hope your ready to deal with a 16ft, 200lb snake that likes to spray crap everywhere.

as for the blood, its a slightly better choice, especially if your used to working with ball pythons. bloods have the same disposition as the balls.

good luck with which every choice you make >>> i push tward the bloods, since you dont have that much experience with snakes much larger thank 5ft.

i'd have to agree with nevin. burms aren't the best snakes for begginers hence why so many end up in rescues or neglected. alot of times people actually become afraid of thier snake because it's to big. They also eat alot and it's a big undertaking for someone who isn't used to a snake growing 2-3 feet a year. i've meet some that are just sweet as all get out. Yet i've meet others that have killed people so i'd go with a blood python.

yeah I've been thinkin the same way....the size wasn't an issue...I knew how big they get, I was at least planning on a male so they wouldn't be AS big....but I really do like those bloods....the albinos have the most incredible color

yeah they do tonya, they are georgous. i like black bloods better personally, but albinos are great looking aswell. and shoot, if you got the money go for it, i sure as hell would. ohhh buy the way, if you have anythoughts in breeding later on, and albino blood would be a much better investmant choice
