I'm struggling with something.I was wondering if I can get some clarification.Included in my post is the true definition of a raptor. Why do people who are supposedly experienced breeders selling raptors with eclipse eyes or even partial red eyes. pattern on their bodies.I thought a true raptor is suppose to have both eyes ruby red and a solid colour? Any input??

RAPTOR

Typically RAPTOR Hatchlings look like this (Johnson).RAPTOR stands for Red-eye Albino Patternless Tremper ORange. A RAPTOR is a Red-Eyed Albino gecko with an orange colored body. They were created by Ron Tremper in 2004. Unlike some morphs such as Blizzards or Enigmas which are random mutations, RAPTORs are a combination morph. They are a combination of the Eclipse morph, Patternless morph, and the Tremper Albino morph.
red and a solid orange colour.

That definition is a bit off, RAPTOR is a combination of Eclipse, Patternless Stripe (not the same as Patternless), and Tremper Albino. It is hard to say that a RAPTOR can only be a solid red eyed, patternless albino because the Eclipse and Patternless Stripe traits are so unpredictable, genetically a snake eyed jungle tremper is the same as a classic RAPTOR, which is a solid red eyed, patternless stripe tremper. Some people are sticklers for the precise definition, some are not. I don't think it's that big of a deal personally, if someone advertises a "Jungle RAPTOR" or a "Striped RAPTOR", you know what you are getting, there is no deceit involved.

I think that is a definition i've read on numerous sites.Thats like calling a Blanco that has eclipse eyes a Diablo Blanco_Only a DB has red eyes not a Blanco

the way i'll see it is simple i considere a RAPTOR a gecko that exibits the albino trait, the perfect stripe( even in the tail) and the eclipse gene either the red or the snake represent's the eclipse all this caracteristics has to be in the fenotipe of the animal to considere i'm a raptor.

for moste people the red eyed raptor is better then the snake eyed raptor, the way i'll see it is that they are all raptor, there's not a geneticaly influence in red or snake eye's this is totaly random, for exemple

you breed 2 red eyed raptor together, and will be expected, expected that all most the offspring would represente the red eyed raptor, but in reality this doesn't happen, the offspring could exibit more snake eyed raptor then red eyed.. and it goes the other way 2 snake eyed raptor breed together can origin an offspring with more red eyed raptor. it depends on the influence that the albino takes on the eclipse gene and this makes it random.

still this is the way I view this question of true raptor.

R.a.p.t.or- a poorly chosen acronym that doesnt fit; generally describing a captive bred Eublepharis macularius animal expressing the inheritable traits Tremper albino, eclipse eye, stripe, and reverse stripe.

I think R.A.P.T.O.R. works just fine. It's simple enough to accurately describe the morph. A topnotch R.A.P.T.O.R. is the standard.(full ruby eyed, perfect patternless stripe, Tremper Albino, and lots of orange) R.A.P.T.O.R. is the standard that we can work towards. If its not showing these traits you can elaborate on its definition.

Example: Snake-Eyed Banded R.A.P.T.O.R or Reverse Stripe R.A.P.T.O.R

Besides if the animal doesn't display the patternless stripe it still has it in its genetic history. And I need to keep track of that. Even Possible R.A.P.T.O.Rs tend to carry the stripe gene.

Imagine if I had to write ruby-eyed albino tremper etc. on every deli cup. hahaha:D

Bell RADARs have banded and all sorts of patterns, when they are supposed to be the bell version of raPtors so what is the problem? Because radar isn't an acronym containing "patternless" it gets to have variation without dispute? I don't get it...

here's my jungle raptor, one eye's 100% red and the other has a bit of coloring at the edge, i would say 95% red
