defrosting snake food in the incubator

i've been using my home-made incubator to defrost food for my snakes
i wanted to ask if it could harm the eggs somehow?

Id imagine not, unless the food is contaminated some how, but why don't you just use hot water?

because sometimes hot water wash alot of the smell, and in the one time i tried my snake didnt ate the rat because it was all wet
