So if the eggs are laid in the water of the water dish inside the tub, then that pretty much renders them useless/no good, rite?

:(

Came home from work, and found that one of my Red Stripes laid her eggs not in the lay box, but in her water dish instead... I pulled em out, and they are pretty much "waterlogged"... almost feels like a water balloon.

Never had to deal with a soaked one before, so just want to verify... no good now, rite? Or will it dry out and be fine?

I had one od me females do that before but I still put them in the incubator and they still hatched,so I would give them a try and see how they do,Good luck and I hope they will hatch.

Thanks! I didn't toss em just yet! I decided to cook em and hope for the best n see what happens! I candled them today, and the red spot is at the top of the egg still, so i know they are atleast fertile, but whether or not they drowned, i'm still not sure yet, but time will tell! I'm remaining hopeful though, as this is one project i'm pretty excited about! Either way, it's not the end of the road if they don't turn out ok, because this was only her 1st clutch of eggs.

:Fingers crossed!:

Had this happen this breeding season. they were just like you described. I put mine in the incubator with a slightly dryer inc. medium because the eggs had taken on water. the one that was fertile is doing just fine.
